Why “Meadowlark”?

The name “Meadowlark” is in honor of the Rickard family’s history of farming this property since the late 1800’s. Craig’s great-, great-grandfather (James Rickard) referred to his farm as “Meadowlark” once he moved to the current Ceresmore Farms property with his wife, Elizabeth. The farm name was changed from “Meadowlark” to “Ceresmore Farms” in the 20th century by Craig’s Grandfather because “Meadowlark” was already in use.

What grows at Ceresmore?

Lots of corn, soybeans, wheat, and white beans. Speaking of names, “Ceres” is the Greek goddess of agriculture and the root name for the word “cereals”, which is apt for the basis for the farm name because the farm has been involved in growing certified seed for many years.

What about flowers for weddings and special events?
